Faculty of Islamic Sciences Welcomes Former PETRONAS Executive, Developer of “Easy Tajwid Learning Method,” on Educational Administration Exchange Opportunity

On February 18, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulhakam Hengpiya, Chairperson of the Master of Education Program in Islamic Educational Administration and Management, along with faculty members of the program, welcomed Haji Masri bin Yusof, former Chief Executive of PETRONAS Sabah & Labuan (1989-2001), Malaysia.

Haji Masri developed the "Kaedah Tajwid Cara Mudah" (Easy Tajwid Learning Method) to help learners understand and correctly read the Quran. He began teaching the Quran to company staff after discovering that many were unable to read it. His deep study of Tajwid led him to create this simplified teaching method.

After his retirement in 2001, he dedicated himself to teaching the Quran and nurturing a new generation to love Quranic recitation. Today, TCM has volunteer members who travel to teach these techniques both domestically and internationally throughout the year. In Thailand, Dr. Muzakkid Heampinit serves as the coordinator for various organizations.

His visit to the university aimed to explore future collaboration opportunities in educational administration with the Master’s program. May Allah bestow goodness upon him and his delegation.
