Faculty of Islamic Sciences Welcomes Malaysian Delegation for Educational Visit and Exchange
Today (16 September 2025), the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammadrofli Waemah, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed Dato’ A.Aziz Deraman from Pertubuhan Peradaban Melayu Malaysia Kelantan, together with a delegation of more than 80 participants from various Malaysian institutions, such as Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Malaysia, Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Negeri Kelantan, and Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Kota Bharu. The visit was aimed at learning about the educational system in the southern border provinces of Thailand.


On this occasion, the Dean delivered a presentation on the history of Islamic education in the region, as well as the Thai educational system, highlighting in particular the teaching of the Malay language at the Fardhu Ain (Tadika) level, which drew significant interest from the participants.



Meanwhile, Dato’ A.Aziz Deraman reflected that the people of the three southern border provinces are fortunate to use the Malay language, which serves as a bridge to communicate with communities across many Southeast Asian countries. He also expressed his hope that students would continue to preserve the Malay language within society.
